Mindful of Medication

Anti-Depressants

Be aware of the anti-depressants you are taking
Prozac and Zoloft can depress libido in both men and women and cause erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction. People taking anti depressants can experience an effect on their hormone balance, but it is hard to detect if it is the depression or drugs. There is research that antidepressants can affect semen quality and lead to lower sperm count.

The answer to taking them while trying to get pregnant is difficult to answer, you shouldn’t discontinue them without consulting your doctor. For some people, extreme stress plays a major role in their fertility problems, and in those cases an antidepressant can actually be useful.

Anti-Inflammatory

When in heavy use of anti inflammatory, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:
ibuprofen
Advil
Motrin
Aleve
COX-2 inhibitors, such as:
Vioxx
Celebrex
Can stop ovulation. They can lead to luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome (LUFS), the failure of the follicle to release the egg. They can also reduce the amount of fertile cervical mucus produced.
